Value chain

A value chain is a tool that provides a broad perspective on an organization, including all the interactions, activities, resources, and interdependencies present within its business model and operating environment. A well-mapped value chain serves as a starting point for understanding a company’s ESG impacts, risks, and opportunities, and thus for effectively managing sustainability issues.

We often begin the implementation of strategic ESG projects with an analysis and visualization of the company’s value chain. Our focus is on identifying hot spots – areas within the chain where the company impacts its surroundings, as well as where significant ESG risks and opportunities exist. A properly scaled value chain makes it possible to define ESG action priorities and allocate the organization’s financial and operational resources effectively.
